My recent stay at the 1831 Boutique Hotel was a mixed experience. The location was fantastic, close to Darling Harbour and great places to eat in Chinatown. However, I found some aspects of the hotel needing improvement. The entrance felt a bit unwelcoming, and my first room was quite dingy. Thankfully, I was moved to a better room which was clean and comfortable, but still smaller than I expected.

Rooms
6.0
I initially got a dingy room that I found uncomfortable, so I requested a change. The new room was compact, modern, and mostly comfortable, with useful amenities. Still, I missed having a window for natural light.
Service
7.0
The staff were efficient in processing check-in. They moved me to a more suitable room quickly, which I appreciated. However, the lack of warmth during the initial interaction felt a bit off.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is a definite highlight. Being right at the edge of Chinatown, it's perfect for exploring Darling Harbour and other attractions like the Opera House on foot.
Dining
6.0
Though dining options in the hotel were quite basic, I enjoyed nearby cafes. I especially liked 'de la France' for breakfast pastries, but the in-room dining options were limited.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities included a kitchen area and a lift to access floors, but they felt a bit dated. The indoor mall access was also less appealing, which took away from the overall experience.

I had a lovely stay at 1831 Boutique Hotel. The room was basic yet comfortable, with a great location close to Chinatown and easy access to public transport. The only downside was the slow lift and some noise from neighboring rooms, but overall it was good value for the price.

Rooms
8.0
The room was quite basic but had all I needed, like a comfortable queen bed and a decent-sized desk. Though small, it was clean and air-conditioned, which was a plus. I appreciated the good water pressure in the shower, and while it wasn't soundproof, my room was in a quieter area of the hotel.
Service
9.0
The service was great, with friendly and helpful reception staff. They definitely enhanced my experience at the hotel, making me feel welcome and attended to during my stay.
Location
8.0
Located right in the heart of Chinatown, the hotel was a perfect base for exploring Sydney. I found it convenient to get to Darling Harbour and other attractions, though navigating the entrance could be a bit confusing initially.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast options were a bit limited, but I enjoyed the nearby cafe where I could grab a good pastry or a cooked breakfast. It was nice to have options close at hand, especially in the vibrant Chinatown area.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had a communal kitchen which was handy for a quick snack. However, the lift was quite slow, which made access a little inconvenient at times. Still, the overall facilities met my needs.

My stay at 1831 Boutique Hotel was a mixed bag. The location was convenient, being close to Darling Harbour and local shops, but the room I first received was quite dingy and not very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helped me change to a better room, which I appreciated, but overall, I wouldn't consider this a true boutique experience compared to others I've had.

Rooms
6.0
The first room was small and very dingy, but I was moved to a larger room after I complained. This new room was still small, with an urban feel thanks to exposed brick, but it was more comfortable.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and accommodating. I appreciated their efforts to move me to a larger room that better suited my needs, which made the experience better overall.
Location
8.0
The location is excellent, right near Darling Harbour and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. However, George Street was under construction, which made it a bit complicated to navigate.
Dining
6.0
The dining options were decent, with a nearby cafe to grab breakfast. However, the communal kitchen had a strong garlic smell from adjacent eateries.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities felt somewhat lacking, with a communal kitchen and shabby stairways. There was also no room service, which was a downside, but the walking tours were a nice bonus.

I had a pleasant one-night stay at 1831 Boutique Hotel during a business trip. The room was clean, and the bed was super comfy, which definitely enhanced my experience. The location was fantastic, being right in the heart of Chinatown with lots of eateries and bars nearby. However, the quirky layout with long corridors and staircases made it a bit challenging to navigate at first.

Rooms

The room I stayed in was a bit small but quiet and very comfortable, especially the bed. While the decor was simple, it was clean and provided everything I needed for my stay.
Service

The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. They made the check-in process quick and friendly, which I appreciated after a long day of travel.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is superb, with a light rail stop right outside and plenty of great food options in Chinatown all within walking distance.
Dining
7.0
Dining options were fairly basic, more akin to what one might find in a hostel, but there was a nearby cafe where I could grab a pastry or breakfast.
Facilities
7.0
Facilities included housekeeping and laundry services, but room service was basic. Still, they offered helpful tour and ticket assistance.

I had a lovely stay at the 1831 Boutique Hotel, though there were a few quirks. The warm and welcoming staff truly stood out, and my room was comfortable and clean. The location made it easy to explore nearby attractions, but the hotel's layout can be a bit confusing, and some areas could use updates.

Rooms
8.0
My room was small but clean and cozy. It had everything I needed, including good WiFi. However, it could benefit from new carpets.
Service
9.0
The staff members were friendly and very accommodating. They quickly helped me with my check-in and were responsive when I needed assistance.
Location

The hotel is perfectly located near Paddy's Market and Chinatown. Getting to Central Station and Darling Harbour was a breeze, making it a great base for exploring Sydney.
Dining
8.0
I enjoyed the convenient dining options nearby. Chans next door offered delicious meals that were easy on the budget, and there was a communal kitchen available too.
Facilities

The hotel had great facilities like a pantry and laundry options. It felt more like a home away from home with everything I needed at hand.
